The father is not a good influence and I *hope* to be married one day and I don't want my daughter to have 2 dads.

You should prepare yourself to tell everything to your daughter at the earliest. As for sole custody, it depends on law of your state. It is better to engage a lawyer. According the details you provided it wont be difficult for you to get a sole custody. All the best.

You have to go to court and have a custody order written up first. I doubt if you'll be given sole custody unless you can PROVE he is unfit, but you need some strong evidence. Being a "bad influence" isn't good enough. Just because you "want to get married someday" doesn't mean your future husband will be this child's legal father. In order for that to happen her biological father has to give up all parental rights and you can't force him to do that.
YOU made a choice when you spread your legs and had sex with this man, now YOU have to face up to the responsilbity of that choice whether YOU like it or not. He IS this child's father and he has the RIGHT to spend time with her. YOU are obviously not mature enough to have had sex let alone parent.

Get a lawyer and file for sole custody. I misunderstood the question, you can't file unless you are ready to fight him. Does he know about her? I'm not sure about where you live, but where I live if your not married to the father, neither have custody of the child legally. It is whoever the child is with at the time. Check your laws there and see. You might not be able to control her having 2 dads, good luck

This means complete financial responsibility for you and no child support from the father. That's the price you pay for exclusive custody.

Why do you want to exlude her father from her life?

UPDATE: Like it or not, her biologial father will ALWAYS be her father.

Considering what my ex tried to do to me, your idea of "Bad Influence" might mean that you don't always get your way in making the rules.
