I went to the doc today, for my 37 week exam and she was shocked that the baby was so low. The baby had dropped a few weeks ago but today she said that her head is really low and she can feel it with her fingers. She said that she thinks I will have the baby by next week. Is this usually a good indicator of labor? I am a figertip dilated as well. Are there things I can do to speed it along so she possibly comes next week? I have been very crampy the last few days. Thanks everyone.

With my first, I was also VERY low by 36 weeks, and I went into labor a week later (on my induction day, as a matter of fact!). You really might go soon since when the baby is that low, dilation can really happen alot faster. Since you are still only at 37 weeks, I would just let it happen. But walking alot may help you dilate some more. Good luck, it won't be long!

The only things I know for sure that work for bring on labor is sex and walking. The walking brings the baby down, but yours already is, low so I'd say have sex. There is a component of sperm that dialates the cervix. Otherwise, nope, its a waiting game.
Don't be in such a hurry to get that baby out though. Once she/he comes, you will miss the feeling of the movement, even the kicks to the bladder, and oh yes, most importantly, the ability to leave the house without being spit up or peed on!!
Congrats, and I hope you have a smooth delivery and healthy baby.

Yes, congradulations!! What you can do for dialation would be to walk alot, do some squats that helps but rest! Giving birth it really is a marathon, so just drink tons of water and walk and that could help alot. Once the baby drops it can go very fast so stick in there good, I would possible try and go to a birthing class that will help you a little inb getting ready for the dlabor, and it wouldn't hurt to pack your hospital bag now so its ready.

From the sound of things, it will happen naturally anytime now. Just relax and indulge in mild exercises to ease the cramps. And then enjoy your baby girl!
