My girlfriend shops at all those places every-week, and I think it's rubbish...but I can't stop her. Some people are just minimalist, others are shopaholics...Of course there is also the kind of people that are more aware and don't shop at places like that (walmart included) because of the consequences...
But yes, I am anti-hollister/abercrombie...even American Eagle. It's crap how these chains just take what was hip years ago and makes it hip again, just recycling the same crap over and over again. My girlfriend would come home from shoppinh with her dumb friends and I would ask her what she brought back from the 80's and if she could pick me up a copy of Sonic the Hedgehog next time.

I agree with not shopping at any of the mentioned stores because of the consequences. Not necessarily to oneself, but to the world as a whole-- Supporting the transportation of goods. Possibly supporting factory conditions that might be inhumane and not allowed at all. Supporting the destruciton of natural resources that could be better preserved....
Personally, I can't fathom why somebody would want to not only pay $50 for a pair of jeans, but for a pair of jeans that already look as though they've been overworn.
I prefer thrift stores. Plenty of things under $10. Supporting good social causes. Giving new life to clothes that have already been made and paid for. I miss the Goodwills at which I used to shop. I never paid more than $5 for something and if I were to pay full price there (well, their full price), it had to be well worth it. Even at thrift stores I refuse to pay any mor money than necessary.
Yeah, as for paying more than $20 for toothpaste, good analogy. However, with sale prices and coupons and free after rebate offers, it's been awhile since I've actually had to pay anything more than tax on toothpase. Wal-Mart Supercenter does have decent grocery prices, but I can do just as well if not better at other stores with their double coupons.
I digress.

I am anti-Abercrombie because I'd never pay $90 for a pair of thin already ripped jeans, but I actually like Hollister when I feel like splurging a bit. The prices aren't as bad as Abercrombie's.

Yes, clothes are not well made. Strings are hanging off everything. And, they seemed to have turned their back on what the fashion trend is for colors. Oh, and as someone who has had seizure disorders, I detest the loud music and lighting. I really can't stay in their stores for long!
My cousins and I love Target for casual clothes. The colors and the styles are lovely.
P.S. I love Wally's World! The people are sooo nice. I go there for the frozen foods, sodas and cheese. They have great bargains!

Showing my ignorance here, but it's only just recently that I've started noticing shirts that say HOLLISTER SOUTHERN CAL., and I thought Hollister was a city in Northern Cal. So I was confused. Souvenirs from a vacation spot I never heard of? Then I realized, oh, it's a trendy brand name, it's just people paying to advertise a label.

Yes, I am but they're not as bad as abercrombie. Their clothes are so boring...UGH! If they didn't have the brand name plastered all over them I wouldn't be able to tell that they were hollister or wal mart or what. Maybe we should just ban designer labels so people would quit comparing each other!!!!!

Look, i know they have high prices, but i dont get why there are people who absolutly hate abercrombie, and some that just love it!! You know what i mean, its a store and just because you shop there doesnt mean youre a bad person or a prep!! Why are you labled for shopping there?? and why is it so horrible!!

My girls like American Eagle. All three of them say Hollister sells cheap stuff because it falls apart right on the tables at the store.

ok i am going to school for fashion and I hate abercrombie and any brand associated with it. I think they are overpriced and their fabric is cheap and will fall apart on you. OH and the people that work there suck to.

they cost like 50 for jeans you could go to like target or kohls and get the same looking jeans for like 20!
