when you spay an animal, its de-sexing the animal, like neuter.
They remove the reproductive organs (e.g. chop chop for males)

Spay is used for femals, and neuter is used for males.
Neut means to stop i guess, to stop breeding and to stop the reproduction.

I hope this helps, maybe look up the tersm for a better idea of their meaning and what sex they refer to!

Spaying and neutering are types of operations for female (spay) and male (neuter) animals. It basicly involves removing part of their reproductive systems so they can't have babies. It sometimes has the added benefits of reducing hormone related behavior problems, making the animal calmer, and reducing or eliminating the risk of certain diseases.

You spay a female to keep her from getting pregnant and you neuter a male to keep him from being able to impregnate a female. It's a good thing to do actually. Just ask Bob Barker!

Spaying is the removal of the ovaries and uterus from a female animal so they cannot reproduce.

Castration is the removal of the testicles from a male animal to prevent reproduction.

Neuter is the term used to describe either procedure - it can apply to both male and females, not just to males and some people mistakenly believe.
