You are probably anemic (low hemoglobin count in your blood). You should get some over the counter iron pills, and take them for a few weeks and see if that helps. You really should go to the doctor so they can order a blood test, and they will be able to tell you why your hands are turning purple.

Sounds like a problem with poor circulation. Does diabetes run in your family? If you're experiencing pain, discoloration in the hands could be indicative of carpal tunnel syndrome. If I were you, I'd go to the doctor.

This happens to me also! People ask, why are your hands so blue and purple? & Even in the summer my hands are ALWAYS freezing cold. People always say this: "What are you, ice girl?"

Sounds like poor blood pressure to the hands, check for symptoms of diabetes.
Or maybe the blood is all going to your hands to warm them?

I don't think that it is much of a big deal, my hands do that too!!! Are you really white? I am and that might also be the reason people can see it on you the most.

You should really see a doctor. Discoloration in the extremities could be a sign of heart trouble. It's always better to err on the side of caution.

My mothers hands do that often and everyone asks her what is wrong. She went to the doctor and they told her nothing was wrong.

sounds like you have a peripheral blood supply problem, anyone in your family ever had this or does diabetes or anything run in the family?
Some people carry hand warmers, wear cotton gloves, etc
