Not an expert, but I have seen this before. My conclusion was that at work this person values or even frets over what others think about them, so any expression of themselves where other people are watching and secretly or even professionally judging must be as perfect as possible. At home, it's their domain and nobody is there so they can let their guard down, and hair too.

I have an MSc in Psychology. I would say this person has a very rational organised approach to most things on the outside but on the inside they cling to the past and the state of the home usually represents the persons behaviour. They do not sound out of the ordinary , to some people taxidermy is as normal as collecting stamps. But as with everyone, you can only only really get to know someone after a period of time.

I have had some elderly folks doing this. It's called collecting. They are just being frugal. They never threw anything away.
When we cleared out two church members estate, I have never seen such a hording thing. I do not think that there is a psychological term for it. Oh, by the way I am a retired Social Worker. Hope this helps.

once you're saying she would not like actual touch, is this from definitely everyone? Is there some thing in her previous like abuse ( verbal, actual, or psychological?) Sounds to me like she could be a sprint shy, and this would in basic terms be a protection mechanism. If she is happy along with her existence, and it would not intervene along with her with the flexibility to fend for herself, what precisely is the subject? Is it that each and every physique her buddies choose her to be a undeniable way, and she or he's happy the way she is? who's that this counseling or therapy rather for? Granted i'm not judging, I in basic terms think of that we want greater enter than what you have right here. positioned up some greater info and we could see what we can arise with.

It could mean many things and nothing at all. There are many possibilities for this type of behavior. Maybe they put on a facade at work to seem professional even though it is not who they are inside. (I think many professionals do this). Also, maybe he works a lot and when he is at home he relaxes, to the point of not cleaning often. Maybe he just has been busy and didn't clean before you came over but felt you were a friend and didn't feel pressure to impress you.

I think the answer F C gave is likely right (on the button).
For some of us in circumstances that are complex, the need for perfection is of utmost importance ...like the need to be perfect and avoid getting bad marks against them / or fired for inexact work performances.
It's similar to those who NEVER take time of work for being sick ~ in spite of being sick. A 'Perfect Record' is important, it demonstrates a willingness and commitment.
There may be other reasons ~ based upon the individual and their circumstances.
I hope that helps you somewhat ~ and good luck.

im no expert but i'll answer anyway.
i think they probably have alot of ambition, and a desire to be respected and honored at their job, so they will be perfectionist where they feel they can be rewarded for doing "extra good" or being "extra organized" .. and at home they probably release anxiety by collecting things..
they probably [and i say probably alot because im no one to judge] dont feel they have to prove anything at home, and they can just relax.. so they just let everything clutter and be a mess, and they dont care. peoples behaviors have everything to do with how they feel emotionally..
