Yes it is. It is hurtful to the other party and morally wrong besides.

Well it ruins marriages and families. Is THAT a bad thing? It turns those involved in the adulterous affair into whores. Would THAT be a bad thing?
If someone wants to phuck around and not honor the marriage contract then WHY get married at all.

For those who bring up religion, marriage began as a CIVIL union and not a relgious one so relgion has nothing to do with the actual marriage contract. For those who bring up "the bible", I ask are you that intellilectually challenged that you don't understand that there are thousands of other religions practiced on this planet other than just Christianity? Telling someone who doesn't practice your fate to "read the bible" Is like telling a toddler to read "War and Peace". It makes no sense.

You're asking either because you're thinking about doing it or have already done it. It is bad if you lie and go behind your partners back. But is your partner aware, are you swingers, polyamorous? If you want to explore outside of your relationship then your partner has the right to the same.

Its called cheating for a reason, because its not fair. Give your partner a choice.

You need to look at it from all view points:

The Cheater: it's just instant gratification while living in a fantasy world.

The Cheated: betrayed and dismayed at the utter apathetic behavior of someone that's supposed to have your back.

The Other Woman/Man: also living in a fantasy world, laughing at the fact that they have the power to crumble a marriage.

Society: Frown upon anyone letting themselves be involved with another person outside of the marriage.

Yes. It's actually illegal in some states, although they don't in force it. Adultery never helps a relationship, only hurts it.

Not really.
Adultery is a selfish thing not bad.

People want to be safe and have security and want marriage to be that safe thing, but its not.

A relationship is not strengthened by marriage.
A marriage is strengthened by the relationship between husband and wife.

Remove the concept of marriage from adultery and its dating and dating is what single(selfish) people do.

We are all a little selfish.

Is dishonesty a bad thing to you? If not then get some morals. If you have to cheat then end the marriage becuase its an emotional hell to the victimized spouse.....trust me.

In and of itself, no. But it is indicative of a serious fault in the marriage relationship; people in a marriage that is working properly do not feel the need to go outside of it for sexual activity.
