When working for an airline, does anyone know if only you get to fly for free. Or can you have a friend or girlfriend fly for free, or cheap, as well?

You get to have 'buddy' and family passes as well as your own travel. You are also eligible for discounted air fares if you are bringing people with you, but those are standby in nature. Depending on how long you are there, the level of your passes raise, so if you are traveling on a pass and the flight is oversold you may be less apt to be bumped off the flight if you are a long time employee with a higher level.

Note: the airlines know people will work for less with such benefits and the pay generally is awful to begin.

Only you fly for free. And it is on space available only, which means, you wait until the plane is ready to close the door, and if there are seats available, you go on.
They may allow immediate familty members to accompany employees at a reduced rate. meaning spuse and children.
, but not friends, uncles, aunts, mothers, or girlfriends.
