From all the Republicans I know, I'd say about half.
There are plenty more atheists in the Republican Party than the Democrat Party. The thing is the Republicans aren't idealists, they're political and pragmatic and would get in bed with anyone who would advance their agenda.
A Republican keeps his mouth shut about religion unless it serves a purpose. The truth is Republicans are about privacy (theirs not yours) and property. Most true Republicans were weened on Ayn Rand and believe that both the public (and God) can be damned. And all those born again folks are just around to fill up the ranks and cast votes. Most Republicans could care less about the moral issues because they have enough money to circumvent them if they wish to.

I don't think too many are. I have always had the belief that Republicans support more religious freedom and such on their platform, and that Democrats are usually concentrating on science. I mean, there is probably some atheists that are Republicans, but most of them are probably Democrats.

Plenty. I know just as many atheist Republicans as I do religious Republicans. I'm not saying the atheists dominate the party, but they're not nonexistent.

Moron libs like Ben seem to not understand that part of being Liberal is to not make generalizations of other groups. So you don't even have the brainpower to be a real Liberal. Pick an ideology already. I heard Communism is accepting members.

Note to Delphi: Being "kinda athiest" is like being "kinda pregnant". There is no middle ground there -- you either are or you aren't. In the athiesm question, if you do find middle ground then you are not an athiest. The fact that you found middle ground puts in the loose category of agnostic.
As to how many athiests are in the Republican party -- no clue. I never thought about it.

I know Bush is one. He uses religion and false morals, but has none. He is one of the "anything for a buck" crowd running America. He'd claim to be a muslim if polls said that is what people wanted.

Probably more than we want since they really don't represent Christians or conservatives like we hoped. They prostitute themselves for a moderate vote.
