No, it's not a record. Others have done it over the years. Back in the 1980's Von Hayes of the Phillies hit a grand slam home run and then a two run homer in the same inning. Now that was really something to see.

Actually it is rare but no record. Fernando Tatis of the St.Louis Cardinals hit 2 Grand Slams in the same inning back in 1998!!! Otherwise there have been over 50 hitters to hit 2 HR's in one inning.

No, the 2 home runs in one inning by Benji Molina wasn't a record. It hadn't been done by a Giant since Willie McCovey in 1970, though. Unrelated, but Fernando Tatis hit 2 grand slams in an inning once, which is a record.
Hmmmm, got scooped on the grand slam thing by the previous poster...

Two homeruns in the same inning, while rare, has been done a number of times.
Fernando Tatis once hit 2 grand slams in the same inning, which is a record however. He is the only player ever to accomplish the feat.

Two homers in one inning ties the major league record. It's been done plenty times before. Ellis Burks, Dale Murphy, Fernando Tatis (two slams, his) that I can recall quickly. Someone once hit two in one inning, one from each side of the plate -- Baerga? Lemme check...
rummage, rummage...
Can't find it. I think it was Carlos Baerga. Anyway, there's a complete list linked below, but here's a few other well-known names who have gone yard twice in one frame: DiMaggio, Kaline, Joe Carter, McGwire, Garciaparra, Hack "191 RBI in 1930" Wilson, McCovey (twice!), Dawson (also twice!), Bagwell, Sosa, Sheffield... and others.

Actually, yes it IS a record, contrary to what everyone else is saying. It tied the MLB record of 2 held by many players. The entire list (dating back to the 1890's) is at: http://baseball-almanac.com/recbooks/rb_hr4.shtml
