The lady next to me is driving me crazy. What should I do?

do your best to tune her out, and answer her question with generic, very vague answers that are actually non answers. Hopefully she will find you to be so dull that she'll leave you alone.

I work with some nosey people, too, and nosiness is my pet peeve. They want to know what you're reading, eating, what's in your purse, who called you on the phone, what mail or package has come in for you, etc. I've learned to put away any personal items before prying eyeballs can take a look and have follow-up questions. I like to keep the peace, though, so I've learned to say in a very friendly tone of voice early on, "Mary, I know I'm very outgoing and I enjoy everyone's company, but there are just some aspects of my life that I like to keep personal. You can understand that, can't you? For instance, if flowers are delivered to me, I may say who they're from, but I may not want to read the card aloud or pass it around. You know what I mean?" They always agree and that really helps keep everyone from having hard feelings. Good luck, cuz I knoooow how it is!

If the lady is being disruptive- ie making noise where its meant to be more quiet- and making noise all the time.... ask her politely if she could keep it down...if however- you are just sensitive to noise- try using an ipod or something to mask the noise.
You want to be careful though- if you are super nice about it- chances are she will feel bad about making noise and pipe down a bit...if you come off as ranting/bitchy- she might become defensive.
plus- no matter how she responds- you still have to work next to her....so keep that in mind before you do anything. (unless one of you moves...)

Yes I do, and everybody talks about everybody else's business. Its a car dealership. Go figure. Just tell the lady next to you that you would appreciate for her to mind her own business before things get uncomfortable! Good Luck!!!

Yes I do. My supervisor is so nosy that when I go check the mail and have it sitting on my desk, she thinks she has to rifle through it everyday to see who got what.

I can't even take a phone call or get online without one certain person walking by and either reading my email or listening to my call!!! I just want to smack him but I never say anything because that is just how i am..
I'll be checking to see what others say to do..
