The Accord is a much better car than an Altima. The Accord is bigger and definitely more reliable. The Altima is more on par with the redesigned Civic.

The biggest difference apart from resale value is the reliability. Many people assume that Nissan is reliable because it is an import. This is far from the truth. They are nowhere near the reliability of the Toyota and Honda vehicles. In fact, Nissan has a notorious reputation for transmission problems.

There was also a massive recall on the 2006 Model Altima involving engine fires. They had to cease selling them at dealerships for a good 2-3 months.

Your be happier with the Honda in the long run.

I personally would get a Ford Fusion or even a Hyundai Elentra before a Nissan.

I also owned one and had nothing but problems.

They both have 6 letters in the model name, so that's out. No, if you are a person you drives a car till it quits, it doesn't matter about resale value. The Honda has a better repair record, but the Altima is a very good car. Pick what you are most comfortable in driving or riding, that is the best car for you.

Altima is not bad, but not as good as Accord, one of the best.

Just look around at 5 year old cars to see what holds up better. You want it to last longer than your payments!

The Accord will hold its vaue best if taken care of. Nissans tend to be less reliable as well, but any of the big three imports are better than the best domestic. Buy the Honda.

You are obviously buying new. Both are excellent, spacious, safe cars, and pretty fun to drive. I would honestly choose on the basis of which you enjoy driving more. However, I would also NOT recommend getting navigation in either car. If you want navigation, get an after-market device; they are cheaper, often better and easier to use, and you can remove them or turn them off much more easily when you don't want them.
