Face it, you can't both claim to be smarter than Bush and then claim you were fooled into going to war.

So which is it libs? Did Bush lie and your stupider than he is, or did Bush at least think he was telling the truth like EVERYONE ELSE AT THE TIME.

His Republican backing is actually at 80% but thanks for playing...

Nobody wants to be on a sinking ship.

Edit: Great answer Detoth. Couldn't answer the question, so we get a grammar lesson instead.

Edit2: I laugh at how many of the Democrats on here claim to not have been among the 50%.

Is this like the phenomenon that Wal-Mart is the only multi-billion dollar company that nobody shops at?

I doubt that as many as 50% of liberals approved of Bush. BTW, “Democrat” does not equate to “liberal.”

I think, however, that some liberals actually trusted Bush. I was not one of them. Some people also seemed to think that Bush must have had additional information about WMDs that was not being made available to the public that could justify such a serious undertaking. Perhaps those kinds of beliefs were due to a desire to trust and believe in the leader of our country. Frankly, I thought at the time that such trust was rather naïve.

in 2003 we still did not have all the information that we have today that showed that Bush lied. We were still relying on Bush's lies at that time. In spite of that, I did not then or ever believe him about Iraq. At least those Dem's that approved of his job have seen the light and no longer approve of him. What is your excuse. Judging by your question, you must STILL approve of Bush. That is BY FAR sadder than anything you posed in your question.

At least Liberals and Democrats tried to be non-partisan about it. Notice he had high ratings for a while after 9-11. The problem is, if you are not a Rep. lemming, it is impossible to give support to a man hell bent on destroying our country.

Unfortunately, Democrats that were not fooled by President Bush forgot to vote on the approval rate poll that day.

Remember to vote. It could make all the difference.

Sure you can: if his administration deliberately covered up or faked necessary information, then you can be both smarter than Bush and fooled by his deception.

If I lie convincingly to you from a position of respect and authority, are you an idiot if you believe me?

And remember: no-one is accusing Bush of handwriting any fake evidence. There is no indication he is clever enough to convincingly do that...

I wasn't in that 50%. :-)

And unlike Republicans with Clinton, we gave Bush a chance to make some good decisions and see where his plan was going. Later, we realized there was no plan, only kill as many Iraqis as possible no matter the cost. Now, we are trying to figure out how in the heck we can get our troops out of there without being total butt-holes and without being perceived to lose the war.

I've never approved of Bush. But then again, I'm not a democrat.

I can not speak for all liberals, only myself. And I can categorically say, I never supported his plan to invade Iraq and would have never given him a positive job approval rating, and he has always been a moron.

I was part of the 50% who didn't approve, so I can't answer your question except to say that people do change their minds about things when wars are completely mismanaged.

He was given permission to use force if necessary, not to screw it up as much as he could if he did.

Because back then, 50% of Democrats were conservatives.
