Short story:
Amber goes home.
He realized she is too immature and needs to grow a little. What broke the camel's back was when he went to her hometown, he couldn't meet her family so he was stuck with Amber and her roommate and they were acting like "sorority girls" (his quote, not mine).
They were being immature and giggiling a lot. They were laughing about the dog peeing on the rug.
He had a good time with the other girls and their families. The families were all pretty nice although Tessa's friend and family were a little hard on him (lots of questions).

Long story:
Andy goes on the first of his four hometown visits with Bevin in Seattle. She greets him enthusiastically by jumping into his arms. Andy says that the chemistry he feels with her is the strongest of any of the remaining women. She's brought him to Snoqualmie Falls, about 30 minutes east of Seattle, because it's one of her favorite places.

She prepares to tell him a secret: She was married before and she's not sure how he'll react. It was when she was a teenager and the marriage didn't last long. He wants to make sure that she still takes marriage seriously and she says that she would have to be 100 percent sure before getting married again. He thanks her for her honesty, but privately, he says that since marriage means so much to him, he's troubled by her revelation.

Next, he meets her parents, stepmother and sister. She tells them about her twisted ankle and how Andy rode with her in the ambulance to the hospital. Her sister says she thinks Andy is cute and seems down-to-earth. Over dinner, the sister asks Andy how this will work since there are still three other women in the running. Andy says he sees "something special" in Bevin and that he hasn't felt this way about anyone in a long time.

Bevin's mother presents them with a painting of a Northwestern landscape. Bevin is overcome to see her mother, who's always been critical of her past boyfriends, hugging Andy. Alone with her father, he asks if she loves Andy and she says she's never met a guy like him before but she doesn't want to have her heart broken. He tells her there's no guarantee but that if she doesn't take the risk, she'll always regret it.

Andy tells her family that he thinks Bevin is wonderful and now he can see how she got that way. He hugs them all goodbye. He kisses Bevin farewell and tells her that her family is amazing.

Privately, she says "love" is a big word for her, but she definitely feels like she's falling in love with Andy.

Next, Andy arrives in snowy Bethel, Connecticut to meet Danielle's family. He gives her a warm hug and spins her around. He meets her parents, her little sister, Caitlin, and her two dogs.

Danielle, who still lives at home, reveals it's a big deal for her to bring someone home to meet her family. She asks her mother and sister if she thinks she and Andy look good as a couple and they both say they do. Danielle says she can't believe guys like Andy exist.

Meanwhile, Andy talks with her father, Jim, who says he wants the best for his daughter and that she'll "give 1000 percent" in any relationship.

Her mother tells Andy her biggest concern is how far away Hawaii is and whether Andy plans to stay there. Andy replies it's important to know that Danielle would be able to travel the world with him. Caitlin privately says she likes Andy, but worries that he'll break Danielle's heart.

Over the dinner table, Danielle says she thinks this is fate, that she believes she and Andy were supposed to meet. She kisses him goodbye and says she never thought she'd find love again after her college boyfriend died, but she may have found it again in Andy.

There's also snow on the ground in Washington D.C., where Tessa waits impatiently for Andy to arrive. He runs to meet her and wraps her in a hug. Tessa points out the Capitol and the Washington Monument, but he only has eyes for her. She tells him he'll be meeting her parents, her sister and her best friend, Samantha, who is like a sister to her and who came all the way from Denver just to meet him.

They gather at her mother Romana's house. He tells them about his date with Tessa where she tried on a bunch of Nicole Miller dresses. "What do you mean, you watched her try on dresses?" her father Tom asks, pretending to take offense. Tessa goes to change for dinner and the grilling begins.

Samantha says he appears to be the perfect guy, so she wants to know one of his faults. He answers that he can't sing and he's not that great of a cook.

Tessa's sister wants to know what it's like dating more than one woman at once and Andy says it's harder than he could ever imagine. Samantha asks about the other women who are getting hometown visits and whether any of them have qualities that Tessa lacks. He answers that many of the other women have been quick to show affection, whereas Tessa has let him know that she takes more time to open up.

Privately, Andy worries that they won't approve of him and if that's the case, he and Tessa won't have a future together.

Over dinner, Andy talks about his work and his medical training, but Samantha starts in again with the tough questions, asking if he sees a marriage proposal at the end of the show. He replies that he doesn't know. Her mother asks where he'd like to honeymoon and Tessa tries to head her off, saying, "I think we're getting ahead of ourselves." Andy says, "I think Tessa would like to go somewhere where she could bring you two!"

To the camera, Tessa says she thinks the grilling is too much and she might need to step in and defend Andy because she really does have feelings for him.

When asked if he likes to cook, Andy jokes that he likes to do dishes. He takes the opportunity to clear his place and go to the kitchen so he can have a moment alone. Tom, Tessa's father, joins him in the kitchen. Andy asks if she's brought a lot of other men home before and Tom says no, and that Tessa's "careful." Tom says that before Tessa went on the show, her attitude was "whatever happens, happens" and that her main objective was to have fun, which worries Andy, even though he believes it means more to her than that.

With Tessa and her father off in another room, Andy asks her mother, sister and best friend why they think Tessa wanted to be on the show. He wants to make sure that she's in it for the right reasons and not just for "fun."

Privately, he vows not to leave D.C. until he knows how Tessa feels about him. They finally get some time alone and he tells her he's been praying for her to open up. She admits she doubts how genuine his feelings for her are, even though she doesn't want to. She says every time she's alone with him, she's reminded of why she's here. He asks what she wants by the end of the whole process and, after much prodding, she finally says, "I want to fall in love with you," and kisses him.

Andy admits he's relieved to feel he's finally made a breakthrough with her.

His next stop is sunny Sugar Land, Texas, Amber's hometown. He arrives at the grade school where she teaches. "She's so sweet and so beautiful and she makes my heart beat so fast," he says of her. Before the children arrive, he sits in one of the empty seats, raises his hands, and asks for a kiss, which she gladly gives him.

The children enter and give her big hugs as she says how much she's missed them. She introduces Andy to the woman who teaches the class sign language and he shows them all how to do the "Hang 10" sign.

One of the girls asks how he likes their teacher and he says he likes her "very much" and that he met her on a "special mission." Andy is impressed to see how devoted she is to the kids in her class and for her part, Amber says it "made her heart melt" to see him interact with them.

She takes Andy aside and tells him that she was going to have him meet her aunt and uncle but now something's come up, so she's not sure if it's going to happen. She admits she has a rocky relationship with her parents and that they don't really support her. She calls her aunt and is told that they won't be able to meet her today, after all. She gets off the phone and starts to cry. She says she's embarrassed that he's not getting to meet anyone from her family. She's particularly disappointed that her aunt couldn't make it.

He tells her there may be a piece of the puzzle missing, but the biggest piece is her and he's got her right here, as he gives her a reassuring hug. But Amber is concerned that this setback will hurt her chances at the next rose ceremony.

They go to her apartment where he meets her roommate and her Pomeranian, Pasha. Amber says her dog has a lot of say in who she dates; fortunately, Pasha seems to approve.

Andy worries about the seven-year gap between him and Amber, especially since he feels like he's in a sorority at Amber's apartment. Pasha starts to bark and Amber goes to the door. When she sees it's her aunt, she's so overwhelmed that she starts to cry.

Andy talks to the aunt alone, asking her if she thinks Amber is ready to get married and have a family. She says she thinks Amber would love to be married and have babies and that she always seems to get whatever she goes after.

The roommate asks Amber the same thing and Amber says she can definitely see herself married to Andy and what a great father he'll make. Her aunt tells her she's so glad she didn't miss this and that she would more than welcome Andy into the family. She tells Amber that Andy is deciding on her, not her parents, so their not being there shouldn't matter. Amber vows to stay strong and to take the risk, even if she ends up getting her heart broken.

Andy is very attracted to Amber, but he still can't be sure she's ready to make a lifelong commitment at age 23.

Back in Los Angeles, Host Chris greets the four women and reminds them that Andy has only three roses to give out tonight, so one of them will be on a plane back home tonight.

Andy tells them he considers them all amazing and is grateful to have met their families and seen where they each come from.

Andy gives roses to:

Tessa
Bevin
Danielle

Which means that Amber is going home.

She tells him she doesn't understand and wants to know why he didn't choose her. He thinks she is mature for her age, but that they're just in different places in their lives. "It breaks my heart, too," he says, as she starts to cry. She tells him it's her heart that should matter to him, not her age. She wants to know if this is because he didn't get to meet her parents and he assures her it's not. It's just that he feels a stronger connection to the other three women. He tells her he's sorry and holds her close as she continues to cry.

She finally says if he's not the right one for her, there must be someone else out there. He leads her to the limo, where she tells the camera she still has no clue why he cut her. She'd envisioned a whole life with him and now that's not going to happen. She says it's not the first time a guy has told her what she wanted to hear and then broken her heart and she should be used to it by now. He toasts the three remaining women and tells them he's already seen their hometowns, now he'd like to show them where he lives. "Ladies, let's go to Hawaii," he says.
