If your foreskin is functioning normally (you can retract it all the way without pain or discomfort), you maintain good hygiene, and you practice safe sex, then it's not recommended unless you have some aesthetic reason.

There are a lot of nerve endings in the foreskin, so when it's removed it can greatly decrease the sensitivity in the penis (see link 1). Furthermore, some research has indicated that the foreskin might contribute to the sexual satisfaction/pleasure of not only the man, but the woman as well (see links 2, 3, 4).

In addition, I'm sure you know that the foreskin isn't hard to clean or keep clean (see link 5). Good hygiene can prevent a lot of problems that would otherwise be attributed to or blamed on having a foreskin (see links 6, 7). Good hygiene is like the great equalizer - with good hygiene, there's no statistically significant difference between a circumcised and uncircumcised guy in regards to STDs and infections.

In summary, if you've never had any problems with your foreskin, your foreskin works normally and you get pleasure from it, you maintain good hygiene of the area (and in general), and you practice safe sex, then it's probably better to stay uncircumcised. See the last 2 links for further discussion.

Keep the foreskin!

ADVANTAGES OF BEING INTACT:
--Circumcision cuts WAY down on sexual enjoyment for the man due to loss of nerve-rich foreskin. A new study proves conclusively, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that circumcision decreases sensitivity for the man. http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1464-410X.2006.06685.x
--Getting cut causes the glans (head) to develop a keratinized layer to protect from rubbing on clothing, further cutting sensation. Many cut men are unable to ejaculate during intercourse and have to finish by hand. Intact men can go all the way.
--nine out of ten women who have had both prefer intact penises: http://www.healthcentral.com/drdean/408/60750.html That's really pretty definitive.
--foreskin makes masturbation more fun - and better for your partner to play with.
--Circumcision can be very painful during the recovery period. Some guys say it isn't so bad, while others say it is the worst pain they have ever experienced.
--a cut penis looks kind of sad with that scar where the foreskin belongs. Uncut is much hotter looking.
--Circumcision has a slight chance of complications. Each year a few baby boys have to have their entire penises amputated and undergo surgery to make them into fake girls. And a few die.

ADVANTAGES OF BEING CUT: Circumcision has no advantages that are not fictional or only relevant in a few areas
--You can be just as clean if you are uncircumcised. Wash. It's THAT simple. Even if you're cut, you still need to wash.
-- If you're sleeping around, you need to use condoms regardless or you will get diseases.
--Some studies have shown a lower rate of cancer of the penis in cut guys, but this cancer is so rare that it's hard to get a good statistical sample. More boys/men die each year from botched circumcisions than from cancer of the penis.
--Recent reports from Africa say that circumcision reduces the risk of AIDS from unprotected hetrosexual activity. This has little relevance to areas of the world where condoms are cheap, readily available, and culturally acceptable. The US has the highest circumcision rate in the developed world and also the highest AIDS rate in that group. http://www.circinfo.org/hiv.html

Well, not sure how much it would cost, but I will tell you that is make no difference when having sex for you or the other person. When you are erect, your penis looks and feels just like a person who has been circumcised. ( I know, I have been with men who have it done and have not.) It cause no health threats as long and you l=keep it clean. I understand that the older you get the more painful it is. There is nothing wrong with you, keep it as it is.

The United States is the only advanced nation in the world that still does this to a significant number of newborns, but the rates are dropping a lot (to as low as 14% in some states)

There's a reason why that is. Studies have confirmed that circumcision reduces sensitivity and pleasure in the long run (since the head is bare/dry and rubs against everything) and makes masturbation more difficult (since you can't use the already-lubricated foreskin to rub the head with).

If you're having any problems with your foreskin, e-mail me; I'd be more than glad to help. =)

Adult males lose 15 square inches (40 square centimetres) of skin in circumcision, over half the skin of your penis. You lose the gliding action as it slides on itself during masturbation and sex. You will suffer bruising, perhaps some bleeding, and the swelling from the disruption to the lymph system goes on for up to six months. Removing the foreskin turns the surface of the glans from an inner mucosal membrane to outside skin. Newly circumcised adults usually go through some weeks of intense discomfort as the glans is constantly exposed to rubbing on clothing, until it develops a thicker keratin layer and becomes less sensitive. You must abstain from ALL sexual activity for an average of six weeks. Some men like the final result but others complain of loss of sensation and miss being able to slide their foreskin over the glans. Circumcised guys often have little or no movable skin left and are forced to masturbate using lube or rubbing dry, without the loose skin. There is no going back if you don’t like the result.
Many women who get to interact sexually with an intact penis prefer the natural state. Don’t do this to yourself just to fit in. Be proud of your whole and natural body.

cost depends where you go, level of health cover and what country your in. mine was not medically nessessary and only had to pay a $250 excess as was done in a private hospital. i don't know where some people get thier figures from. the full cost to the isurance company was $1600 that was with a one night hospital stay. altho not really needed. drove mayself home the next morning. was up walking round, had a smoke 2 hours after it. general anesthetic. local is all you have to get, but mine was thru private health, i wasn't paying so why not lol.
i got it at 23. i'd recommend it yes. feel more during sex as no longer just sliding in and out of skin. obviously cleaner. looks better. and do get more head.
and it is pretty much painless. they have things called anesthetics now days people. used at all ages, assuming doctors aren't using out dated methods. used at ALL ages in this country anyways (australia)

Dude I'm in the same boat as you. I've thought about it, but I have a very healthy sex life the way I am. And I've had girls say they prefer it uncut because it feels better due to more friction. Plus they like to play with it :)

I have had both - it's not that big of a deal for the women, really......my son is 13 and was never circumsized even thought his Dad was. Lots of guys are uncircumsized. At this age, it is surgery..meaning you would have to go 'under' and is considered cosmetic AND is quite painful. (I checked into it a while back when I was considering having my son circumsized - decided no way!!)

Nooo! Don't do it. You don't know how lucky you are!

And remember, circumcised guys are in the minority. There are billions of guys who are the way nature/God intended them to be...and only a few million who've amputated one of the most sensitive parts of their body.

"you can keep your hat on" and it easily moves out of the way when it needs to.
I am not sure of the cost, but I have friends who did it after adolescence and it is very painful for at least a week and just regular painful for a few days more. Wouldn't be worth it to me bud.
