Ok i have 4goldfish in a tank with a pump and filter. One of them snaps the others but they usually swim away fast enough. One of my fish now look sick. His tail looks like it is hair. Almost like it is ripped VERY thin, impossible for the other snappy one to cause. The fish with the thin tail also looks sick.. like it cant breath, and none of its fins stand up. He also doesnt swim much anymore. Plz help? =(

Your sick fish may have fin rot - see this link with photos you can compare to your fish: http://www.fishpalace.org/Disease.html#Finrot You can treat this with a broad-spectrum antibiotic like Maracyn or Maracyn TC. If possible, move him to another tank for treatment - this will prevent your biological filter in the main tank from being upset by the use of antibiotics and also ensure the other fish leave him alone while he's recuperating. This doesn't have to be anything fancy - just a large plastic tub (like a plastic storage container - just rinse it well before using) with an airstone will work.

Hi, clamped fins are a clear sign something is wrong although I can't say for sure what. It could be that he has caught his tail on something rough or sharp.Check your tank equipment & ornaments for anything that might have caused this. Also check that your water parameters are good & do a partial water change-that will dilute any possible disease in the tank & buy you time. Then post another question on here-hopefully someone with more knowledge than myself will be able to give you more constructive help but try to include as much info as you can, how big your tank is, how long you have had it etc. Good luck!

it rather is rather helpful to to alter the water and get some new embellishes for the tank or bowl because of the fact regardless of the indisputable fact which you need to not see something undesirable stuff would nicely be there. no be counted if it rather is barely a bowl pass get an aquarium in case you somewhat love this fish sparkling oxegen being pump-in ought to easily do the trick. do not use to lots ick therapy it ought to harm the little guy. you need to place a small aggresive fish in there that ought to unquestionably attack the fins and consume the crud off his fins.

use aquarium salt. it is good on goldfish. this helps goldfishes breathe better. now, is he red? if he is it is a fungal infection and you need to use PimaFix. you can find it at petco.
