...Im not sure yet if I am pregnant or not, but I could be...and I have been taking antibiotics for 10 days, dosis of 1500 mg per day. Also, I sometimes take paracetamol or ibuprofeno when I have headaches...would it be affecting the baby if I am pregnant??? ...

Antibiotics should be okay. The general rule of medicine is to weigh the risks against the benefits and then medications are ranked on safety.

My very healthy son (now four months old) was conceived while I was on some hefty antibiotics for Strep Throat.

Ibuprofen (Motrin) and Advil, however, are not safe. Basically, the only known safe pain reliever during pregnancy is Tylenol.

And as far as common pregnancy signs? Unfortunately it is quite hard to distinguish an early pregnancy from an oncoming period- many of the symptoms are similar such as bloating, breast tenderness, mild, mild cramps, nausea, etc. Because it can be so different for everyone, that is a very difficult question to answer.

Best wishes.

Anything you put in your body will affect your unborn baby, as you are sharing a blood supply. Sometimes the benefits of taking a medication outweigh the risks to a fetus, and sometimes they don't. Some medicines are ok for your unborn baby and some are definitely not. You would need to ask your doctor or a pharmacist to be sure. Ibuprofen is not recommended for pregnancy, but Tylenol is ok. If you have a headache, take Tylenol instead.

Signs of pregnancy can include (but not always - everyone is different!) nausea, tender/sore breasts, and of course - a missed period. If you are unsure, you should take a home pregnancy test.

Best of luck!

There are only certain antibiotics that are safe in pregnancy. Stop taking the ones you are on right away contact your GP and inform him you suspect you are pregnant.

Paracetamol are fine in pregnancy but absolutely not ibuprofen.

there are some antibiotics that are safe during preg. ib prof should be avoided and you should take tylenol only.

Women who take paracetamol during the later stages of pregnancy are more likely than those who never take it to have children who suffer from asthma.
Paracetamol (Panadol®) is safe to take in the recommended doses while you are pregnant. The recommended dose of paracetamol for pain relief is one to two 500 mg tablets every three to four hours, with a maximum of eight tablets in 24 hours.
Paracetamol is classed as a category A medication in pregnancy. Category A medications are those which have been taken by a large number of pregnant women or women of childbearing age without an increased frequency of malformations or other harmful effects on the developing baby having been observed. Therefore if a medication is needed to provide pain relief during pregnancy, paracetamol is a suitable choice.

In the early stages of first trimester, the baby isn't living off the umbilical cord and therefore isn't getting everything you take in directly (yes it gets to the baby but since there is no placenta and umbilical cord in the very early stages of pregnancy, there is no direct line). Which is why, in general, things you do before you know you're pregnant don't tend to cause long term effects on the baby.

I'd take a test and call your doctor.

I would check with the doctor. I know it is ok to take certain antibiotics. I had a problem with a tooth not too long ago, and my dentist called my doctor, and I was able to take pen VK. I was also given the ok to take Tylenol (just regular) I am 6 months pregnant. As far as "tell tale" signs...Aside from missed period, my boobs hurt bad, and I was very tired. If you are wondering, just take a test. Good luck.

Anything you take will get to the baby. If you even think that you are pregnant you need to call your doctor right away.

#1 most common sign is a missed period. Other things could be mood swings, tender breasts, excessive hunger, being more tired than usual....
