Why does everyone slag off fall out boy
i know that people have there own oppinions like my mates hate them but i love them
I bet that most of you who hate them dont even listen to the ture lyrics and maybe if you read the articals maybe you would know that there not posers And maybe all of you slagging them off isn't doing them very good you know like every band they want to make it to the top and yes i know that there will be people slagging them off but Give them a chance. Okay maybe Pete Wentz is a bit of a poser but that doesnt come to accont when you are talking about there talent.So give it a rest okay ?

I know how you feel. I have a friend who hates them but has never seen listen to any of their music! It just gets under myskin when people bash things that htey have never even listened to. People need to start thinking and give FOB a chance. And if you don't like them just don't talk about it. I don't like a lot of this but I don't go around and talk about it all the time!

Well, I am a huge fan of classic rock. When I compare Fall Out Boy with the bands I listen to, there is a huge difference. I could care less if they are posers, but you bring up the argument of lyrics and talent. I had the chance to read their material, and it is abhorrent. I scanned over This Ain't a Scene. The first stanza states:

"I am an arms dealer
Fitting you with weapons in the form of words
And don't really care which side wins
As long as the room keeps singing
That's just the business I'm in, yeah"

If I listen to a band's lyrics, I want to be either confused, or contemplating their message. I don't know what they are trying to say here. The lead singer talks of giving people words as weapons, but isn't that only pretentious and moronic? Besides, based on these lyrics, I would rather have the singer keep his wares.

As for music, the endless drone of power chords is not music. It's called muzak. One can find the same variety inside a dentist's office. I watched and listened to Pete Wentz bass, and to be honest, the series of eights and quarters do not impress me, especially in a 4/4 time signature.

I love fob anyone who ''hates'' them needs to look up the definetion of the word. Hate is just to strong.Most of the time they don't even understand what thier saying.Fall Out Boy is the best band ever.Okay i will never love a band more then them!By the way no offence or anyting Pete isn't a poser!FOB is so so so so talented good drummer, good singer,good bassist,good guitarist,GOOD LYRICS GOOD EVERYTHING!MY opion is i'm kinda happy not everyone understands them, cause it just goes to show you in life you've listen to one of the most wonderfullist things ever and a bunch of others don't get them.I agree with you everyone needs to slag of fall out boy!!

I'd say people dislike them usually because they are the most popular band for now, so they are bound to get some backlash. I have a pretty unbiased look at music, since I wasn't into popular rock for so long, and I think their music is catchy and enjoyable enough, so I understand why people like it, but it's nothing like my favorite. I try to separate my opinion of the band themselves from their music, and ignore what other people think about them; I'm not a huge fan of the advertising (product placement) they used in at least their last couple of videos, so I can see why people might label them as sell-outs; still, I can enjoy their music, they aren't that awful. Anyway, you shouldn't base your musical tastes off of what other people like, whether it's popular or not, it should be what you enjoy, and that's the only criteria.

PEOPLE HATE THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE JEALOUS fall out boy are awesome!! Patrick is an amazing vocalist and joe is just mad !! pete is gorguz and Andy is a great drummer.. i think those people who slag them off are just really not into the type of music that they are in .. coz you get people that for some strange reason HATE rock ..and they seem to think it is ok to slag off the artists that are in it .. it just annoys me that people dont even bother to actually LISTEN to fall out boy properly.. they are amazing!!

sure...they may come up with soppy lyrics... how does that make them a decent band??
im not slagging u off for liking them by the way, no matter what i might say.
u say that like every band they want to make it to the top... so they'll have to deal with critizism, why are you defending them for what every band has to go through?
and im not doubting that they can play their assinged instruments, but that doesnt mean that they have that much talent. Talent for example comes in bands like Queen with the awesome vocals from Freddie Mercury and fantastic solos from Brian May. Fall Out Boy doesnt compete with bands like that.

I've listened to enough of their shyt to say I'm honestly know very into them at all....however I thikn anyone who has to go around saying a band or singer is "what's wrong with music" and/or needlessly insult music they don't like doesn't understand what music really does for some people; it's supposed to be about free expression and connecting with the lyrics and sometimes letting them take you elsewhere than just sitting around listening to it; obviously opinions and tastes will vary, as with almost everything; and I think people need to respect other music even if they don't like and THEY don't choose to listen to it. someone will, and what's wrong with that?

I don't think they suck buy any means, I acutally have their cds and listen to them almost regularly, but I am starting to think they are getting all the people talking about them because of that whole Pete Wentz/Ashlee Simpson cell picture thing... He is giving them a reputation they don't want... And in turn changing peoples opinions about them (creating the people voicing their negative opinions)...

I totally agree! so many people hate them because they've only heard like Dance Dance, Sugar we're Going Down and stuff like that. not a lot of people actually get into their music; as in the lyrics and stuff. they are really great songs, everything about them!

I dont think they suck. they are okay. lets just say they didnt make it to my list of good bands(but thats only my opinion). i think their lyrics suck but their beats are really good. i give them thumps up for instrumental and vocal talent. patrick has a different voice from most singers. i have listened to the lyrics most of their songs talk about sex. im not saying all of their songs are about that subject but most of them are hidden messages about that. i dont think their lyrics are at all creative. but yeah i agree you shouldnt slag any musical artist.
