It will be 8 weeks before she is healed and then her body needs time to recover from the birth too. Most women can begin walking and housework normally around 8 weeks. Doctors usually recommend waiting until arond 6 months before doing hard core workouts. She will be able to add exercises throughout the first few months but she needs to take it easy or she will risk doing more harm than good. Exercising too early can permanently damage the abdominal muscles that keep us from looking like we are always 5 months pregnant after having a baby. Make hertake it easy, compliment her body genuinely and don't put pressure on her to lose any weight etc. She will be healthier and better-looking if you are supportive.

She should wait until she gets the okay from her doctor. She'll probably have to wait 6-8 weeks. The standard recovery for a vaginal birth is 6 weeks, for a c-section it's 8 weeks.
I had a c-section, but the last thing on my mind after wards was exercising. I breastfed, so there wasn't a lot of time for anything else - especially exercising.
Best wishes to you and your wife.

I've had 2 c-sections and I'd say at the very minimum 6 weeks. And that would be a light workout, like walking. No weights or running.
Your wife will want to take it easy and not strain the abdominal muscles too much. But she'll know it if she does. Very sharp pains in the incision area are not fun. Even though the incision area is numb (from the cut nerves) there will still be pain if the muscles are strained too much.

I also had a c-section and she has to wait at least 3 months. The incision will start looking good within a couple of weeks, the concern is in the tearing of the abdominal wall, which you cannot see. Also, if she plans on nursing a full on "work out" is not recommended. Exercise is great, very healing, and because she exercises so much she'll probably recover quickly. However, she'll be instructed by her doctor to limit her exercise to walking and possibly swimming. Good luck, and congratulations!

they might tell her to wait at least 6-8 weeks. Normal recovery time for a c-section is 6 weeks.

I have no idea approximately the army, however from the scientific point of view, she must wait a whilst. She would possibly not be ready to do any strenuous sporting events or workout routines for relatively a while. Even if her incision is healed external, it takes plenty longer for the whole thing to heal within.

I work out too and had a c section. It took me a few months to recover. Probably 6 months before I could work out. It depends on her on personal physical recovery and on how she is feeling. Only she will know really, when it will be OK.
