Call the DA in your county; he'll make the arrangements.

If you have a new PO, contact the PO who will be aware of your situation and take care of the warrant for you!

Should the PO be unable to assist you, contact the Clerk of the Courts Office and explain why you failed to appear which resulted in the FTA warrant to start with. The Clerk should be able to recall the warrant and provide you with a new court date!

If none of the above options are available, contact the law enforcement agency holding the warrant to determine the amount of the bond. Make your bond arrangements and go to the law enforcement agency advising them you wish to turn yourself in.

I feel, however, talking with the Court Clerk will take care of your problem without having to get arrested!

Best wishes.

First, contact your physician and tell your physician what is going on. Your physician can provide you with appropriate documentation. Second, GET A LAWYER!!! Third, make arrangements with your landlord! You might be gone a while. Last of all, there are several ways to turn yourself in (follow your attorney's advice). I suggest you go to the local police department. Either take a taxi or drop yourself off. If you have to go to jail, your car will be towed. Do expect to spend a night in jail. You won't get in to see a judge on the same day. It may take a day or two.

Simple answer: Get a lawyer and follow his advice exactly on the surrender. A lawyer will smooth the way and allow for a review of what happened. Making yourself available for the surrender through a lawyer will make the legal system perk up and take notice, and a lawyer can cut through the red tape and bring up your hospitalization in a manner that wont get you jailed - unless they judge you were supposed to be in front of is a total jerk.

Call your courthouse and find out which days are "walk-in" days for criminal court. Arrive at the courthouse about 30 minutes early and check-in at the clerk's office. They will tell you the courtroom in which to appear. Take all your medical papers (hospital documents, a doctor's note regarding your illnesses and the dates, prescriptions, etc.) to prove your statements. Be honest.
