The US had an election in 2000 that had to be decided by the Supreme Court, and the guy with the most popular votes didn't even win, and we had no riots in the streets. Makes you wonder why the French think they are more civilized than anyone else.

I'm amazed at how pervasive the Moroccan-Arabic-Islamic jihadi thug culture has gotten in France. I remember when they seemed very keen to maintain pure French culture, to the extent that they didn't want any McDonald's and they kept a close watch on language usage!
Now they have a massive illegal immigrant problem, and I'm not talking about Mexicans! (One reason the US has accepted our illegal immigrants so long is that the Mexicans have been so nice for the most part.) You have elementary school children rioting at the mention of farm pigs, youths burning an average of 100 cars every night (not just after an election, but every night), rioting because teenager suspects evading the police hide in some high voltage wires and get electrocuted (it was the police's fault for trying to arrest them)-- It's not as civilized as it once was, no. That's why the citizens voted for a change.
