Slope formula

m = y₂- y₁/ x₂- x₁

Ordered pair

(4, 5)(- 8, 6)

m = 6 - 5 / - 8 -4

m = 1 / - 12

m = - 1/ 12

Slope intercept form

y = mx + b

5 = - 1/12(4) + b

5 = - 4/12 + b

5 = - 1/3 + b

5 + 1/3 = - 1/3 + b + 1/3

15/3 + 1/3 = b

16/3 = b
