It depends on why you are trying to stay married and only be friends. I would think that if you are trying to be just friends and stay married that you would eventually begin to hate each other. It sounds like a sticky situation

Well I think you can. I believe that it depends on where your mentality is on the whole thing! If you are more comfortable just being friends then, yeah you can. For some people staying married is convenient.

no you have to have a reason to why you married them. because in future , if your still married, the partner that you want to be with might not want to be with you because your married !!And plus if you forget that you were married to a friend, and you marry someone else, you couldn't get into a lot of trouble (unless your Muslim , where you can have up to 4 wives)

No because then that leaves the possibility of one person sleeping with another person, also known as cheating or being unfaithful. If you really want to be "just friends" then why get married in the first place.

No, I don't think so. Unless both are completely comfortable with the idea. I think people who stay married and aren't in love, generally begin to hate each other's guts.

I think the best way for someone to be married and have a friend of the opposite sex is for the friend to be gay. Unless one of the people is unattractive to the other, two straight people of the opposite sex will probably have some sexual tension between them.

it depends...do you have kids? i think you can stay friends (if you have kids) if you get divorced. but i don't think people could stay just friends and still be married. you're either going to get so horny and become more than friends, or you're going to go find love somewhere else and the other person is going to get jealous.

Wouldn't work for me, but it might work for some people.
My brother-in-law was married for 10 years to a woman
he liked but didn't love, finally he realized life is too short to
throw yourself under the bus and got a divorce.

No! Sex is a key part of any relationship. If you just want to be "friends" you should get divorced and stay "friends" while having a real relationship with someone else.

Yes I could, but I am not married yet, but I love the man that I am with and he's the only one I am attracted to and I do tend to get along better with guys, but I would NEVER cheat on my bf :)
