ok.. so my boyfriend left my 2 children and i and now hes in jail.... he left in the biginning of April paying no rent... i have paid april and mays rent but still owe 130.00 in late fees that im trying to pay off, but my landlord is getting a little upset with me about it. Can she evict me for late fees??

It depends on what is written in the lease. Read the lease and you can find out.

A lot may also depend on state and local laws regarding eviction. That might buy you some time.

It depends on the language of your lease agreement. In order to evict you, you would have to be 60-90 days behind in your rent and your landlord would have to file legal documents to actually be granted the right to evict you.

Yes she can. She can evict you for NO REASON AT ALL in most states. The only thing that is different is the amount of notice she must give you to get out. For late fees, it is usually 10 days. For no reason, it is one rental period (usually 30 days).

Yep. Been there. Done that. Try going to a church and asking the pastor if he can set up a donation box for you and ask the parishoners to help by donating what they can for your sake.

Yes. Everyone has problems. You can't expect your landlord to suffer for it.

The only thing I can suggest is set up a payment plan with her and STICK to it.

Sadly, yes. The law probably would not recognize your situation and tell you to get the heck outta dodge.
