Al Qaeda is a worldwide terrorist network. They have operatives all over, even the USA. China even has a group connected to them, the East Turkestan Islamic Movement, that terrorizes and kills people and the UN has on its list of terror organizations.
That's what the War on Terror is about. They're everywhere and so are their 'supporters'. Maybe even next door to you.
