I estimate there are over a 100 NHL players in the tournament. All of the Canada and US teams, then about half of Czech, Russia, Finland, Slovak teams. Then the odd one or two on the other teams. Of the final 8, Sweden (has 1) and Switzerland (has 2 - 1 being the goalie) are the only two that don't have significant NHL presence.
Click on the link. Then click on a country and click on their roster.

Look at the team rosters ... go to TSN.ca and then to the link for the IIHF World Hockey Championships ... rosters should be there. Should also tell you the players home club.

Yes, there are. Teams that didn't make it or were eliminated first round. Teams USA and Canada both have 4 Canes each, one goalie and 3 skaters. (and they have all done quite well)
Players play for the country that they were born in typically, so they're spread out in a lot of different teams.

Yeah, a lot are, ones from NHL teams that either didn't make the playoffs or were eliminated after the first round. I don't think many teams make changes beyond that (or if they can).

Try www.tsn.ca for IIHF hockey coverage. You won't get many US sites worrying about it. They have a few pages.
