Gas build up means bacteria was building up in there. Bacteria will make your stomach hurt depending on how much it can make you sick for a while.
I hope this is a joke because if it isn't I feel sorry for you.

Yuck! I don't know Dear. I wouldn't eat it. It would be better to invest in a new one. They aren't all that expensive. It would be more costly to have to see a doctor. Or you could just go without. The thought of it made me cringe some. :o)
