My employers always considered me as a net profit. I didn't consider my job profitable. Would you not fire someone who is a liability???

Jobbers are a liability. If you dont believe it, then look where your pay is listed in the financial statements. They may need you to make a profit but you are not a asset. Your still a liability. If they want to increase profit quickly or save a company. they take you right off the liability colume.

I used to be an asset, as I was led to believe.. but they now consider me a "contingent liability".. I have a pending lawsuit (I sued the company) equivalent to USD 300K (or 15M in local currency), so they have to provide a contingency fund/liability for that (provision should I win the case).. and oh, that's the "sweet" lesson they learned, they just can't "retire an asset", there's a "smart" way of doing that, but they aren't SMART, that is! ..

~well, that's their problem..

My employer has been my employer for nearly twenty years. I would hope he considers me a liability, if lost.

An asset.

Profits are theoretical but assets are concrete.

Losses are also theoretical but liabilities concrete for someone else not you.

I am not allowed to use such terms in my life without putting them in proper perspective.

But I would be considered a huge asset. Every time people doubt that I disappear and six people have to be hired to take my place. I am what you might call cost effective. I call it stupid. I work harder than most because I enjoy working. I am that guy you tend to rely on and would tend to take advantage of, and then I am gone and you learn what it is you have lost.

The thing I find hilarious is the person(s) who have been enjoying the leisure of having me around always wind up being fired. It is fun being me.
