I certainly do. I understand the desire to hear each contestant in different genres of music. But come on now! The Begees are an older band and the show needs to be geared towards it's audience. I'm sure there are plenty of people from the older generation who will enjoy renditions of one of their fav bands from long ago. But the contestants are all young adults! And the advertisements are really hyping it up that it's Begees night like everyone at home is jumping out of their seats going yipee!
So what do you think? Last week was Bon jovi and this week its the Begees. Do you think that they're getting a little carried away with the oldies? If you think about it, the contestant that wins is going to pursue a current style of music. So why do we have to endure these frightful theme nights on American Idol?
(just my opinion...don't hesitate to voice yours)

I love the BeeGees and don't have a problem with theme nights. If you think it is just young kids, teens and the 20 something crowd that watches this show, then think again. Alot of the viewers for A.I. are over 40, yea, imagine that. I'm 55 and been watchin since season 1. I have friends and family from 40 to 60 who watch . They want to do songs the majority knows, my guess???

I think when it comes to American Idol they want to see how versatile the contestants are, meaning can they really sing anything. Yes, it's true they will choose their genre of music and stick to it but the whole point of this show is to choose the person who is the best all around singer which means all genres of music.

I don't, music lives forever. American Idol is just guiding the contestants into finding their own style of music and giving us a show at the same time.

Actually i'm quite looking foward to it. Last week was actually supposed to be Abba week but i guess they changed the schedule.
The thing is, they are singing the songs to show off their vocal skills...last week wasn't really bon jovi week, rather it was rock week, like they had country before.
It's not the songs i think people should be interested in, what should attract them is the way that the singers sing the songs.
