sounds like you have a serious infection of virus or spyware or adware or something like that.

Did you try antivirus scanning/cleaning?
Did you try spyware/adware scanning/cleaning?

If you're online, try TrendMicro Housecall to get things going. Otherwise Avast or AVG have good free versions of antivirus software.

Then, search for spyware/adware using something like LavaSoft's Ad-Aware or Spybot Search and Destroy.

After you've 'cleaned' your system...it's probably still vulnerable, so make sure you have all of the Microsoft patches and hotfixes from Windows Update. Then download and run Spywareblaster

(don't forget to get all of the updates from all of the programs also...they're free!)

after you're done with all of the scanning, cleaning and innoculating, run a registry cleaner such as ccleaner...and don't forget to defrag your HDD.

If you still have problems after all that or if you can't get these steps to work, you may have a really bad infection from a virus/trojan/worm...etc. or you may have an actual hardware problem (such as the processor or HDD getting too hot and introducing errors).

You could try chkdsk disk error check. You can normally get to this by right clicking on your disk drive logo in My Computer. Tick both boxes and restart your computer.
