Leftists are leftists, regardless of their nationality. Whether they are American leftists still whining about a Florida recount seven years later, Mexican leftists rioting in the streets and occupying state legislatures, or French leftists p*ssing and moaning about the results of Sunday's presidential elections, they are seemingly incapable of accepting defeat like democrats (please note the lower-case "d").

When conservatives lose elections we say, "We got beat. We'll work harder next time". Why can't the left do the same?

jim: I reiterate, I never heard one peep about "They stole the elections", "We need a recount", or "We were disenfranchised" from the GOP last November. If you did, please share it with the rest of us.

Peace: There were no riots and you know it. Further, the problem wasn't the recount, it was the recount of the recount of the recount. Additionally, the Equal Protection Clause was not being recognized by the Dems. A recount must be statewide.

toffee: So you're saying you only accept electoral results as valid if your guy wins? Yeah, that sounds like just about right for a leftist.

2007-05-08 06:44:04 · update #3

the_secure: Your "answer" is nonsensical. What do electoral results have to do with the war? Further, find some new material Che...your tired old "You should be in Iraq" is as old as dirt and about as interesting.

Black: Huh? What has the impeachment got to do with whining about an election? The fact remains Clinton committed an impeachable offense whereas Bush has not.

jj: You REALLY need to take American Gov't 101. The states have absolutely nothing to say about the electoral College. It is enshrined in the US Constitution, and would require an amendment to alter or abolish it. In all but one state, there is a winner take all system in which the candidate who gets the highest number of popular votes gets all that state's electoral votes. Colorado had a referendum on whether it should be altered there and it went down to defeat.

lltrix: Who said anything about the US-French relationship, or about just how far to the right or left Mr. Sarkozy might be? The fact is he's considerably more conservative than is Ms Royal and the Socialists. I reiterate: the left is incapable of accepting defeat.

josh: I guess we shall see, won't we? Your party has placed itself in the unenviable position of forcing a candidate to run as hard left as he can during the primaries to garner support among the DailyKos type whackos and then run back to the center in order to win the general election.

2007-05-08 07:04:47 · update #8

stony: As a matter of fact, that's a perfect example. The President said, "We got beat", and not one Republican took to the streets. See how it's supposed to work?

Your right a leftists is a leftists no matter where they come from and right now they are trying to take over every country, think G-D the people of France woke up, maybe now they can take their country back, unfortunately I think England is lost. The leftists have let the Muslims take over, they now have Sharia law in England also. The left is weak minded and hate responsibility for their actions, so they cry and throw tantrums. Only the leftist riot in the streets, you never see right wing Conservatives riot in the streets, but maybe we should I think we will get alot more done, and stop this political correctness before it destroys our country, like it has England.

If you practice the politics of hatred and division, it seems a little hypocritical to expect those who are defeated to respond with anything similar to grace. Both of the Bush electoral campaigns (2000 and 2004) were based on hate. So, the socialist candidate in France notes that an even more extreme version of the hate campaign may result in violence and you conclude that leftists are poor losers. Wake up for goodness sake! We're supposed to be able to disagree, debate, and still respect one another. Look at the Bush administration. Any challenge to their decisions is greeted with taunts of treason. It is time for you on the right to stand up to this and demand that free speech and debate be protected.

Dude, you need to do a little more research. If you think Sarkozy is some kind of GOP Republican, you've got alot to learn about the French political system and parties. Sarkozy is just left of Clinton.
Sarkozy has blasted GWB for his position on global warming and not trying to do anything about it. If you think Sarkozy is just going to buddy up to Bush without any criticism then you just don't understand what it means to be French.

Because many of us do not consider this a political game. When I lose at chess I am quite gracefull and offer my opponent my heartfelt congratulations. When those I support lose an election (especially when there are doubts concerning the results) and I fear for the harm that may come to my country I prepare for a fight.

As opposed to the right constantly whining and crying about how Clinton was responsible for bad economy, 9/11, JFK assasignation, etc.

So far since Dems won in USA all I have heard is right wingers bitching and moaning about how the sky is gonna fall and it was all a alien conspiracy, etc

you should do your research and figure out who won the popular vote, regardless of who won the electoral votes. they were two different people in that election. even the states are changing their election systems, as a result, so the person winning the popular votes wins electoral as well.

It's typical. The socialists in France are rioting because Sarkozy is supposedly a devisive figure. His crime - having tough language for criminals referring to them as "scum." And how do these criminals respond? By having more violent riots....proving Sarkozy's point.

Because when the outcome is not what they expected, they have to find somebody to blame it on because "they're never wrong"....Global warming has been openly exposed as being a hoax and they are still playing that card out. They can't accept defeat because they actually believe they are right...
Let's not forget a little website called "moveon.org". It's basically the centerpoint of all of their complaining.
