Hi Veruch,

The information below is taken from our website:
Palermo is a safe place to live, but like every Capital city in the world, there are opportunists looking for victims. You have to use your savvy and should be careful at night- use cabs, they are cheap and reliable. It is not quiet! It buzzes with shoppers seeking out the wonderful boutiques that capture Baires wonderful sense of style. We have can offer you much quieter Barrios just a stones throw from Palermo.
Palermo is known for its many parks and plazas. The Japanese garden in Tres de Febrero Park should not be missed. The planetarium, zoo, botanical garden, polo fields, and the Rural Society Convention Centre are also located in Palermo. Known for its restaurants, bars and pubs, this neighbourhood is alive with Buenos Aires’ most vibrant nightlife. Palermo is the ideal location for those who want the best of both day and night life.
My favourite is Palermo Viejo, or Palermo SOHO, it’s a fantastic neighbourhood of smashing low rise buildings within larger Palermo. Spreading out from the leafy cobble stoned Plaza Serrano, also known as Plaza Cortázar, are expensively renovated buildings that are home to some of the trendiest bars, international restaurants, art galleries and design studios… and the trendy young people who frequent them. Give it a blast- you will love it. If you are in BA for a while, take a flat or hotel for one week, extend your stay or move.
Best wishes for a fantastic BAStay!

I thinks it's a very good choice. I don't feel safe anywhere in Buenos Aires, but Palermo is a quiet one in that sense.
Just have in mind that Palermo is the biggest neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, and has many zones. IMO it's the center of the good part of Buenos Aires, you are not far from city center, you have the subway there. I highly recommend to visit the Lagos (lakes) of Palermo, they are artificial, but surrounded by nice parks. Palermo is also very nice at night.
I personally suggest you to visit the north neighbourhoods (Belgrano R especially) and also San Isidro and Tigre, in the outskirts of Capital. IMO San Telmo, la Boca (except the stadium) and Caminito are tourist traps, a waste of time, these parts are unsafe also.

Yes, Palermo is a very good choice, just stay away from the main roads if you want peace and quiet. It is a very lively, fun area, but also very affluent and elegant.

Don't listen to others' horror stories. Buenos Aires is a very safe city, and the people are friendly and obliging. Just keep your wits about you, as you would in any large city.

I went to Buenos Aires some months in the past and quite loved it. You do opt to do not ignore that it really is large. make effective you exercising consultation what area has many of the web pages that you opt to work out and then stay nearby. My well-known area became Palermo and Recoletta. after I went, I stayed in Palermo and placed that to be a good position. it really is observed as the "So-Ho" of Buenos Aires. good success!
