Hurricane season is unpredictable. Cocoa beach is vulnerable just as the whole entire east coast is. Just look at what happened to New Orleans, who would have thought it to to happen. When hurricane Floyd headed our way in Florida I thought the whole state was about to become uninhabitable swamp land. Some hurricanes are stronger than others. If you are that concerned then perhaps you should only visit florida during our off season which is from the begining of June through the end of November.

It depends. Some storms don't hit Brevard County, but the waves do real damage to the shore . You never know when a hurricane is going to hit, all they can do is predict which way it's headed.

It depends on the path of the individual storm -- and there's no way to forecast that until the storm has formed.
