Sure - along with the amp, you need a cable to connect your sound card to the amp. Also, you need to make sure that the speakers are not close to the monitor, since they are probably not shielded andthe magnets in the speakers will distort your screen and eventually ruin it.

I hooked up my stereo speakers to my computer in the following way:
1. Bought a new computer speaker system with a sub-woofer/amplifier. They're pretty cheap now.
2. Detached and discarded the satellite speakers (the small speakers) that came with the sub-woofer/amplifier.
3. Attached my stereo speakers to the sub-woofer/amplifier.
Works great.
There are other ways.
If you already have a working amplifier to which your stereo speakers are attached, check with a local electronics shop for a cord that has RCA jacks at one end and a sound card input jack at the other. Then connect the RCA jacks to the "Auxiliary Input" of your amplifier and the sound card jack to the speaker socket of your computer sound card. Set your amplifier to "Auxiliary" and you're good to go.
Both the above solutions need an external power source for the amplifier.

You would need an amplifier between the PC speaker out and the speakers.
