Are there are references for constructing a rope bridge. It will be used by children around 5 years old. I want to build the bridge between 2 trees (A ladder on one tree and a slide connected to the other tree). The distance between trees is about 15 feet.

I do suggest that whatever you build, contact specialist on knots, rope and alike before you trust the childrens health and life on it.
One place where you can find those specialists is:
http://www.igkt.net/sm/index.php

Five-year-olds are rather young to play high above ground, and you did not state the height of the crossing.
They are also not aware of the dangers of climbing where they should not go.
If you use scouting instructions, go for the ones that state that they can be used for young children or beaver-scouts, not the ones intended to be used by cub-scouts or scouts.

If you use other plans, check them for health and safety certificates as if to be used in a playschool or other institute that caters for children as young as yours.

As a knot-tyer I know that it is going to be difficult to make it safe enough and still within limits of what a non knot-tyer can do.
If you are a knot-tyer yourself, you will know that not all knots are reliable, and some rope is not safe to use.

PS: the rope-bridge in the link of the answer above is not suitable for children younger than 10, and those who are using it have to be supervised at all times when crossing, as the site suggest, by 2 people at all time.

I'd look on scouting sites to find instructions. I found free instructions at http://glenn.cockwell.com/scouting/scouting_rope_bridge.html
good luck!
