All these so called 'rockumentarits' or bastions of musical knowledge are WRONG... the song 'One' was not done originally by Three Dog Night. There cover is arguably the most recognised. However, it was written and first composed and performed by the legendary Harry Nilsson. Nilsson is perhaps most famous for covering a song himself written by Fred Neil and performed by Nilsson some years later on the sondtrack for the film, Midnight Cowboy. That song being, 'Everybody's Talkin'. The point being that many songs are not truly recognised by the preliminary artist, but by a covering artist years later.
