WTF?! I want to get married I don't want to have a vagina! I'm not transgendered, I'm gay, same with my boyfriend. I would say you are missing the point of marriage and are rather ignorant.

What the hell?

Okay, let me see if I can explain this too you so you can understand. As others have already pointed out you are confusing sexual orientation with gender identity. The folk who go though gender reassignment surgery are transsexuals. They do so because they feel they've been born into the wrong gender and are seeking to correct that mistake. A homosexual (or in my case, bisexual) is attracted to members of the same gender, there is no desire to become the opposite gender.

I'm perfectly happy being a woman, why in the world would I want to get gender reassignment surgery just because I am not heterosexual?

I don't have a narrow mind, you're connecting things that don't go together.

Gender is seperate from sexual orientation. Also if I get a sexchange I'll lose my partner, because he won't find me attractive if I am a woman.

What needs to change is the law, to say we need gender reassignment in order to bypass the law is ludicrous.

I am male, I do not wish to be female, I shouldn't have to become one just to get married, that's discrimination!

NO.
First and foremost gender reassignment surgery does not allow for marriage in many States.
Second there is NO REASON for a Gay Male to do that when eventually it WILL be legal.

I don't want to get married!! Let alone reassignment surgery... That's only for Transgenders. No point in my changing my sex if I don't feel like a woman trapped in a mans body!

I see you're a little unclear on Gender Identity and Sexuality there darlin'. Let me help you out a bit...

MY PARTNER AND I ARE BOTH FEMALE, WE BOTH IDENTIFY OUR GENDERS AS FEMALE, NEITHER OF US HAVE EVER WANTED TO CHANGE GENDERS, NEITHER OF US HAVE EVER THOUGHT WE WERE A MAN IN A WOMAN'S BODY.

SHE IS NOT ATTRACTED TO MEN, I AM ATTRACTED TO HER FOR THAT REASON!

ALSO, JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE DOES GET GENDER REASSIGNMENT SURGERY MOST STATES DON'T ALLOW YOU TO CHANGE THE GENDER ON YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE WHICH IS WHAT DETERMINES YOUR LEGAL ABILITY TO MARRY A SPECIFIC GENDER...AT THIS TIME!!!

THIS IS CLEARLY GENDER DISCRIMINATION ON ALL COUNTS!!

NOW BE GOOD AND GET BACK TO YOUR HOMEWORK.

1) Most people do not want to change their bodies.

2) The operation and the hormones you need to take later (for the rest of your life?) cost thousands of dollars. (Or....are you footing the bill?)

One shouldn't have to get one's body all cut up just to get married. It isn't civilized. Or kind.
