I've been contacted by a company over seas that got my resume off career builder. They said that they were looking for a finanical manager in the U.S they want to send me a check and then I send the money to whatever contact info they provide. Anyone ever heard of this is it a scam how can I find out for sure?

yes this is definately a scam. It's called a fake check scam. You deposit it and send them money and amazingly the check comes back as fradulent and you are out the cash you sent.

Yup, it's a scam. You'd send the money, then their check would bounce anf you'd be stuck paying the bank back for the bounced check that you cashed. It's a common scam and has been around awhile in various forms.

Definitely sounds like a scam...While you send them real money, they send you a fake check...I have heard of people being scammed like that and then getting in serious legal trouble for trying to cash/deposit a fake check.

its an OLD scam warned about by the FBI, they will ask for info and slowly suck you in, they may even send you amoney order or check to deposit stating they want you tosend them part of it right away. after you have deposited. So, you wire them money, then the check you deposited, and your out what you wired them and are responcible for the bad check you deposited

My suggestion is look the company up, maybe even call them to see if it is legit.... it sounds like a scam to me though. Anybody from oversees saying they'll send you money and then you send money somewhere else is usually a scam. Maybe call the Better Business Bureau to see if the company is legit.

Yes, it is a scam.

Almost everyone has a resume online and an e-mail address so it's basically spam mail phishing for your info.

Scam. Even if it was true, it sounds like money laundering to me!
