Well as of this morning 88% is in Kansas, the other 12% in Iraq. Has the state finished with their responsibilities and have they requested Federal assistance? The Fed government can't just step in, it has to be asked for from the local and state authorities....yep.....just like in Katrina!

Where they should be is where they are told to be by orders. Morally though they are sorely needed at home. I wish they were at home in Kansas. And I wish all the soldiers could come home. They are sacrificing for a worthless cause. -k-

i dont know about the folks in kansas, but in my opinion, the kansas national guard is right where they are needed most at this time and this woman governor, i can't recall her name at the moment, reminds me of blanco from LA. who whined and moaned after katrina that "it's all bush's fault!"...neither of them was prepared for these types of situations, so they try and put the blame on someone else and bush is a great scapegoat...why can't you liberal democrats do anything right? why can't you accept responsibility for your inactions and your unpreparedness? these people are reprehensible and utterly disgust me!...

The unfortunate fact is many who participate in the Reserves are policemen, firfighters and other professionals who are needed here at home, and surely there are areas all over this country that are feeling the loss of these people.

Wherever they are needed most (Iraq). I knew the Democrats would use another tragedy to politicize their anti-war sentiments.
My thought upon seeing that on television was great, they care more about bashing Bush than they do about our security. Nothing like advertising that our National Guard is in Iraq.
ADDED: Yes! Dojoman! She reminded me of Blanco, too.

Well as with any armed forces branch, contrary to what you may believe, the federal mission comes first. So Iraq is the politically correct answer to your question...
