Jones is much better than Edmonds. I love the way Edmonds plays the game, but he makes a lot of catches look a lot more spectacular than they really are. Andruw has the better range and makes better reads than he does. Edmonds might make the flashy play more often, but thats because Andruw would of gotten to the ball without having to dive for it. All those gold gloves speak for themselves....

While Edmunds was very good for many years(hes nearing the end of his career now), Jones is in the same class as the all-time greats, like Mays and DiMaggio. I remember when my dad used to tell me about how Joe D. used to play CF: he kept saying "DiMaggio just used to GLIDE out there." Years later, I'd look at Jones play and pretty much say the same thing. Andruw is something special.

Lets see here, Jim EdmOnds or the best defensive centerfielder of all time who also is better than edmonds offensively? I think i'll go with edmonds. NOT!!! Andruw by far the best ever to play the position, anyone who says edmonds is crazy!

Hands down - Andruw Jones is better. And if he played in an ESPN market like New York - everyone would know how good he really is.

Jones. Both are comprable and amazing defensive players, but Jones will ultimatly be, and is, a better hitter. Andruw is going to get PAID this offseason, and as a Yankee fan, it would be scary to see him in Boston. The Sox have a very realsitc chance of signing him. He is a tremdous power hitter, and the visions of seeing him drilling HRs over the Green Monster will be a sore sight.

Overall, today, Jones is better.

However, that being said, back in the day Jim Edmonds made catches that would make Willy Mays drool. Full extention over the shoulder to straight away center...amazing.

Jones is by far better than anyone in MLB right now. Edmonds was very good before injuries slowed him, but not nearly as good as Jones.

Jones. Edmonds has been plagued with injuries over the past few seasons which have seen him slow down. He also doesnt get the exposure he once did before the arrival of Pujols.

Is? Jones. Edmonds was, for a while, but that was some years ago.
