Many people have asked similar questions and the answer to this question also will be in that pattern. Better forget about what in the world cup and move forward. There is no point in crying over spilt milk. Let's hope that cricket is played in the spirit of the game and that both Pakistan & Indian cricket teams will weather the storm they are presently in and come out with flying colours.

I don't know about the Pakistan team but the Indian team's story bhas been uncovered by Operation Cleanbowled by the Special Investigation Team of Headlines Today.
it seems there were 2 factions-A Sachin group and the Sourav Group and both these players were eyeing the captaincy. And what more-Chappel himself did not talk to a few players like Sachin,Sehwag,Harbhajan.
I couldn't watch the detailed report but I can tell u that they'll keep repeating it.Very often Headlines Today has rubbish news but this team they got it straight form the selector's mouths

They were not up to the mark and even Bangladesh and Ireland like new teams were better prepared then them and thats why they could not defeat them! cricket is not played with experience only but with full sincerity, hard work and struggle....the one who struggle on the day would win ..and this is a small point that these two teams could not get and thus completed their world cup tour in 5(pakistan) and 10(india) days !If they had been knocked out by the stronger teams, i would not have blamed them rather i would have given other reasons...but Bangladesh and Ireland had knoched them out of the tournament and it was a shame!

Pakistan lost because of weak bolwing attack, poor captaincy from Inzamam, poor match planning by the captain and the late coach Bob Woolmer, over confidence in the game against Ireland and above all their ex cricket activities e.g preaching etc.
India lost because of too many stars in a team and every one considered himself the "star of the morning" . Poor selection by the selectors, poor captaincy by Rahul Dravid, lack of coordination between the players and the coach, improper match planning by team management, mishandling of coach Gregg Chappel, over confidence in the game against Bangladesh and over confidence is a killer in cricket. Wrong application of players e.g Sehwag opening in the game against Bangladesh and his early dismissal put whole team under pressure, and above all winning the toss in a crucial match against Sri Lanka Dravid chose to bowl first knowing that his team is under immense pressure and a team facing all above problems can never be a good chaser.
