OK, the Liberals are starting the new blacklisting of Hollywood, but instead of Communism, the new $64 question is
"Are you now or have you ever been a RACIST?"

You guys tried to blacklist Mel Gibson for his anti-semitic remarks, but he was already too popular. So instead, you guys waited until Don Imus made one (more) racist remark, and put a permanent black mark next to his name.

But Don Imus was one of you! Couldn't you guys have waited until a CONSERVATIVE said something racist, so you wouldn't have to lose a fellow Liberal in the media?

Are you guys going to start up the HUCC, the House Un-American Comments Committee? We could call the new movement "Sharptonism"!!
Everyone in Hollywood will have to swear:

""We will forthwith discharge or suspend without compensation those in our employ, and we will not re-employ any racist until such time as he is acquitted or has purged himself of contempt and declares under oath that he is not a Racist."

So there are really two questions here:

1. Are you Liberals happy that Imus is off the air?

2. Are you ready for Sharptonism?

Don Imus should not have said what he said. He was wrong and the women on Rutgers team did not deserve to be talked about like that. But I believe the media saw it as a story and the liberals like Rev. Al Sharpton saw it as a way to take advantage of the situation and get their 2 cents in. Imus has always been controversial and this time it costs him his job. The big travesty was to the women or Rutgers. They handled it with extreme class and I am sure were hurt immensely.

The whole PC thing has been looking decidedly McCarthy-esq for some time now. Don Imus was just the latest - and, he's a dispicable enough character that I don't see him being any kind of a turning point in the trend.

I think you're way off base. Any suppression of freedom of speech is bad, regardless of whether I like it or agree with it. I vote with my remote, so to speak. I don't think Imus was a necessarily a lib or a con, he had his favorites on either side.

But if Imus goes for that kind of language, shouldn't O'Reilly? No, because it's a matter of sponsors. Sponsors pressured NBC and CBS - that's who's responsible. That's who should receive the brunt of your rantings, not liberals.

BTW, Sharpton isn't a liberal, he's a blowhard. He'd go anywhere to get media attention. He's in a class all by himself.

Bittersweet victory is when there is some bad that comes with the good.. or the "win" doesn't feel as good as it should. For instance, you are looking for a parking spot in a shopping center during the holidays.... you suddenly spy one and race to get it... you see ol granny pokeying up to the spot and you just nab it before she does. HA! I got the parking spot... butttttttt ol granny has to walk 3 miles from where she finally found a place to park. As she is walking toward the mall, she gets run over by a reindeer. Good for you, bad for granny.

If liberals had any power at all, then the racist and sexist Rush Limpdick, the entire racist, sexist and hateful fear baiting Fox news network would be off the air. It wasn't liberals that got Immus fired, Immus got himself fired. When are cons going to learn the idea they keep yelling of 'personal responsibility'. The advertisers revoke their business from his show and that's when the network pulled the plug. That should be your first clue that the media is corporate not liberal. If Don Immus was liberal, I might have listened to him often. But everytime I listened to him, he was ranting racist and sexist views. Every liberal I know finds that disgusting. BTW, he voted for Bush and is a huge supporter of McCain. Last time I looked, that wasn't liberal.
BTW, Mel Gibson wasn't blacklisted and the liberals that you are talking about were Hollywood Jews.

They were mad at the fact that Imus had Conservative friends too so they made him "pay".
If Imus was a HARD CORE liberal like Sharpton they would have fought harder to keep him ON the air but he broke LIBRULE #18...if you are going to make a racist comment, it can ONLY be against WHITE CHRISTIAN MEN.

why would dems be happy? our goal is free expression and by taking Imus out hinders such. Therefore this whole line of logic you put forth is nothing more than trolling for answers without any real intelligence involved.

PLEASE DONT ASSOCIATE SHARPTON WITH LIBERALISM>>HE GOES WHERE THE ATTENTION IS AND ONLY REPRESENTS HIMSELF

It was CBS's decision. It was a business decision. Why make it out to be more than that? Are you now advocating that CBS is not allowed to make its own decisions regarding its programming? Who would make these decisions?
