I am from Jamaica where we play cricket, which is somewhat similar to baseball. Also what was the highest scoring game and what was the widest margin of victory?

I think the longest MLB game was 25 innings, between the Brewers and White Sox.

The longest game at any level of baseball was 33 innings, between Pawtucket and Rochester of the International League.

I'm not sure about the widest margin of victory.

1991 World Series Game 7 Braves vs Twins John Smoltz vs Jack Morris Twins won 1-0 in 10 innings. Smoltz pitched 9 innings of shutout ball. Morris pitched 10 innings of shutout ball. Considering it was game 7 of the World Series, this definitely has to be considered one of the best, if not the best, game in MLB history. Not to mention, probably the best series ever played. Look it up. Pretty awesome. And it kickstarted the Braves 14 consecutive seasons of Division Championships. (There were also some games played earlier that season in the NL Championship between the Braves and Pirates where Otis Nixon robbed a homerun from Andy Van Slyke and Sid Bream won the series by scoring in the 9th with 2 outs on a bang-bang play at home)

Longest MLB game by innings: 26, Brooklyn Dodgers at Boston Braves, 1-1 tie (before lights, don'cha know), both starting pitchers finishing with complete games, 01-May-1920.

Highest score, one team: Chicago 36 over Louisville 7, way back in 1897.

Highest score, both teams: 49 -- Cubs 26 v. Phillies 23, back in 1922.

Highest margin of victory: well, that 1897 game had a winning margin of +29, and I cannot imagine that's ever been surpassed.

Biggest shutout: couple of 22-0 beatings.
