Big Dig construction everywhere, highway detours with confusing signs. Hours spent at the JFK building, waiting outside the building in below freezing weather, then waiting for hours inside Room E160, watching the clock hands circle its face and waiting for my turn.
Tall Ships 2000. Walking around the city's construction-dusty streets, barefoot because all my shoes had given me blisters, feeling the hot concrete under me. Watching the Fourth of July Fireworks from the 150 foot high mast of a tall ship. Taking a taxi with five other people to go do our laundry. Eating authentic Chinese food in a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Perusing the Market.
Wandering the streets with friends, picking out the perfect restaurant to have dinner, trying to locate a specific store we had seen from the highway. Exploring the public gardens. Seeing Blue Man Group for the first time. More blisters and exhausting but good times.
