yesterday i found out i was 90% effaced and two cm dilated. my question is what will happen when im 100% effaced.
also im wondering about the mucus plug, i havent lost mine yet but what does it look like? will i find it in my underwear or will it be on the tissue when i wipe? sry its my first time im new to this sort of thing lol

when your 100% effaced you are in active labor your cervix has opened you can lose your mucas plug all at once or a little at a time it may come out looking like a veined cork or just a slimey discharge on your under wear or when you wipe with my first 1 i had been in labor for several hours and was at the hospital when i was in the bathroom i heard something hit the water and looked in the commode and there was the whole plug soon after my water broke my second came out a little at a time i'd say you'll have your baby within the next 3 to 5 days if that long keep your bags by the door and your clothes laid out at night and congradulations and the best of luck to your family!

Okay about the misconception of the mucus plug. Not everyone notices they lose it and not everyone loses it. Number two until you dilate the baby isn't coming out. So you can be 100% effaced and it means nothing with dilation.
I noticed the mucus plug with my first and never ever found one with my second.
I would say walk a little to get your labor moving, get some contractions going, etc.

I was 100% effaced and dilated to 3 for 7 days before I went into labor. All's it mean is that your cervix is really soft. The plug looks like snot. You can lose it all at once, or little by little like I did. Some women never notice losing it. I would wipe and notice it.

just means your cervix is soft, and as for the plug, wiht my first one i lost it right before my water broke and i lost it all at once and noticed it in the toilet but this time around i have been noticing it for the last couple weeks, sometime on the paper sometimes dropoped into the toilet some never even know they lose it

after 100% efacement...you will surely add to the dialation...mucus plug looks like it sounds..I have 4 kids...It is slimey...once I wiped it was there, and another time it came out in the toilet...congrats and GL
