Either new or used, I would recommend the Chevy Tahoe, Suburban, Silverado, or Avalanche. Or their GMC twins; the Yukon, Yukon XL, and the Sierra. We used to tow our horse trailer with a Yukon Denali, and it was great. We just traded that in for a 2007 Mercedes-Benz GL 450, and that tows just as well. Don't buy a Nissan or Toyota to tow. They have plenty of power, but if its windy, or rainy its much better to have a Chevy or GMC truck. The new full size GM trucks and SUVs have the best in class milage. They also tow bettween 8,000 and 10,000 pounds.

Pick any full sized SUV. A truck may not have the room inside for all those peoples stuff. Dont forget you have to include the weight of 4 or more people and their stuff in addition to the trailer. Most are rated at 7,500-10,000 lbs depending on the engine. You dont want to tow right at the vehicles maximum because it will shorten your vehicles life a lot if you do it often. If its only once in awhile you could do it with a mid size SUV.

Full size
GM - Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon, Escalade
Ford - Expedition, Navigator
Chrysler - Durango, Aspin
Toyota - Land Cruiser?

Mid size
GM - Trailblazer, Envoy, Buick version
Ford - Explorer, Mountaineer
Chrysler - Grand Cherokee?
Toyota - 4 Runner

I am assuming you don't tow this trailer full time-just vacations. you, also, don't say whether it's a TT or a 5th wheel.
from a legal standpoint you will need a 5.3L or better. if it's a 5th wheel it will pull down quite badly on long or steep hills. this isn't bad, it just means you can't get in a big hurry. the difference between the 5th and the TT is the 5th is much taller and drags more wind. I haven't checked in a couple years, but a 5.3L silverado towed about 6200# a suburban/tahoe will legal 5300# as would a ford expedition 5.4L
if you're full timing (living in the RV) then, if you can afford it-go with a diesel-better pulling power and not as hard on the engine. cost of fuel will pretty well be a wash since diesel cost more and gas has improved mileage. less than 5.3L or 5.4L will, probaqbly not be satisfactory for you. I had a friend who had a 4.6L ford with a SMALL TT the next itme I saw him he had a dodge diesel.

2007 Nissan Titan. Better gas mileage than any Chevy will ever have and more capable of towing than a Chevy. Could tow your trailer and the Chevy after your Chevy breaks down.

Pick-up or SUV? I like the new Tundra with the 4 door cab for a truck choice. Dodge Durango for an SUV.

the new Chevy 2500 series is a good one for this ,it will handle what you need to pull and has the room in it for 4 people to sit comfortable also, and with the warranty that Chevy is offering on the newer ones it makes them a lot better, but the newer ones are running more horse power than the older ones was and they do a good job of doing what you,ll need to do with it,good luck hope this helps.

Chevy. Most bang for your buck. Ford, and Dodge can get pricey fast.
