Dolphins have the faculty of reasoning and understanding it's true, but not to the extent of humans. They can be taught a few tricks but when presented with puzzles even after a long period they tend prove unable to resolve them, or show the level of comprehension to. Add to this they have a propensity for swimming into nets that traps them, swim too close to outboard motors at times and other mishaps and it points to the fact in general human are slightly more intelligent

Intelligence can be defined as the ability to adapt behavior to a change in the environment. The more rapid the ability to adapt behavior the greater the level of intelligence.

Dolphins have limited ability to adapt their behavior. Humans have adapted to every environmental condition of this planet and we are in the process of adapting to new environments.

Therefore we are more intelligent.
