He seems pretty affable in an aw shucks, Jimmy Stewart kinda way. Politics aside, could you like the guy?

Like most politicians from both the right and the left George Bush seems like a man who is trying his best. Sadly his best is not good enough to be President. I'd have a drink with him for sure.
It is time we started realizing that politicians on both sides, (The bushes and the Clintons and most in between) are simply people who love their country and have different ideas of how to what is right for it. If only the people on this Q&A could realize the same

Probably not. He has followed his father in starting with promises and then becoming less effective by the day ending up as a total lame duck.
There seems to be something very shallow about him and his thinking. I suspect he just grabs advice rather than having his own opinions and viewpoints. I suspect that unlike all the other presidents (except his father) who all went on to do more for the country that once he has gone from office he will milk what he can from his status for himself and do little or nothing for America, peace or anything else!
You meet a lot of people in life who seem likable enough and then turn out to be something different. So no I don't think I would like him - certainly not for long!

By the way, your pic is hilarious. I would want Bush to be the average guy he tries to come off as, like you could sit back and crack open a can of gold label with him and watch the ball game, but he is uber-rich, son of a president, grandson of an oil tycoon. he is anything but a regular dude, however he does seem to have that aw shucks kind of "quality" about him. probably a good jokester, a goofball.

No way. Bush is a complete faker; a hypocrite. He probably has an IQ of -12. Plus, he's a hillbilly who was given everything growing up, including his admittance to college. Yeesh.

I think he'd be fun to have like a cookout with or something. Just chillin in the backyard with some brews.

In a frat boy kind of clownish way, I guess. He would be fun to go party in Vegas or New Orleans with.

I already do like him as a person. As far as his policies, not all his policies are that bad anyhow. Sure is better than the retreat, give up, I hate America policy of the opposing party trying to take that office over as well.
