He never occupied Dorneywood either so I can't say I'm surprised that he will not use Qhequers as his country risidence. What surprises me if that he intends to scarper up to his home in Scotland every weekend. Really connecting with the English isn't he?

Now look here Rosie you're a big girl now and frankly I feel you let us all down by asking this kind of thing.

He's a politician for god's sake and we have to allow him his weaknesses. Otherwise we might begin to feel just a tad superior. and we don't want that do we ?

His home and constituency are both in Scotland so I think it's reasonable he spends weekends there. He doesn't have to use Chequers if he doesn't want to. Besides, living in a country pile is hardly going to allow him to connect with the ordinary English voter.

He doesn't HAVE to use Chequers, several PM's have chosen not to. Actually I think it's better that he scarpers back to Scotland when he can - he might actually see one or two of his constituents - he'd still be MP for Kirkcaldy & Cowdenbeath after all.

He couldn't use Dorneywood prior to May 2006 as Fatty Prescott had nabbed it!

I think that England needs an additional Act of Settlement, restricting cabinet posts to those whose birthplace and religion are more likely to produce people with allegiance to England.
