Osama is a CIA operative, who will need to always be there to be a scapegoat.

After George H.W. Bush (our 41st President) left office, he and many of his former cabinet members, joined the Carlyle Group, a Washington, DC operation that soon became one of the U.S. Government's largest contractors. Among those who invested in the Carlyle Group was a family by the name of binLaden.

Immediately following the 9-11 attacks, U.S. Government planes quietly escorted prominent Saudi Arabian citizens (who were attending a Carlyle Group investors' meeting) out of the country, even though all air traffic had been supposedly grounded.

I believe that the U.S. Government planes picked up Osama binLaden and brought him back into this country, where he has lived within the safety and security of his family's huge, guarded compound just outside of Orlando, Florida.

Shortly after all the emotional hoopla died down from the 9-11 tragedy, George W. Bush publicly proclaimed that binLaden was no longer a "priority" - and the agencies charged with binLaden's capture were ordered to cease the search.

The Bush family had a personal vendetta against Hussein, ever since Desert Storm, when George H.W. Bush was ridiculed, criticized and humiliated for not 'finishing the job' and ousting Hussein at that time. From the very beginning of his reign as President, George W. Bush was intent on "getting even" with Hussein. The 9-11 attacks were the emotional baggage Bush needed to unconstitutionally and illegally invade another sovereign nation (Iraq) that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the U.S.A. Osama binLaden was used as a scapegoat; George W. Bush got his way and attacked Iraq; Hussein was killed; and the U.S.A. now will control every drop of OIL it can suck out of Iraq's sands.
It was easier to catch Hussein because that's where the focus was; it was easier for binLaden to get away because of his family's personal ties to the Bush family. It's tragic that family dynasties such as the Bush and Kennedy clans can gain so much control over the United States government. -RKO- 05/08/07

I'm not so sure that we didn't get Bin Ladin. Think about it, If it came out that we got him, everybody would want our troops to come home. In the Global Chess game going on right now, we need to stay over there until the oil is gone. This is a very unpopular view among my friends. The race for the last of the resources is on, my fellow Americans, start having more babies ladies, we will need lots of cannon fodder in the coming decades.

A bunch of reasons.

Bush wanted to go after Hussein before we was elected, and 9/11 gave him his chance. (He ordered his aids to pin 9/11 on Hussein -- even though they tried to explain to him that he'd had nothing to do with it.)

He had to make a pretense of going after Bin Ladin, or it would have looked bad, but he was never really interested in getting the guy behind 9/11.

He wanted war with Iraq to get the word 'great' next to his name in the history books. (This is what he said DURING the 2000 campaign.)

Also, very soon after 9/11 he began to alienate everyone in the world who might have helped us by rounding up, illegally holding, and torturing and raping Muslims, and later by illegally invading a country that hadn't threatened or harmed us.

Also, during the 2004 election, during the Democratic convention, Pakistan had "flipped" an Al Quaeda operative (meaning converted him from being a terrorist to wanting to cooperate against the terrorists).

This would have been a very helpful source of information, but the Bush administration leaked the information, rendering the guy's information useless. (When the terrorists knew we had him on our side, they would no longer trust him, and would change all plans he knew about.)

The administration didn't like Kerry getting a lot of press, due to the convention that nominated him, and wanted to be able to say "See, we're making progress in the war on terror."

They cared more about SEEMING to make progress, than in actually accomplishing anything.

Short answer, which another gave, because they actually looked for Hussein.

There is also the difference between where they were hiding -- Bin Laden having more freedom of movement, and really handy terrain, if you want to hide.

S.H. had made a lot of enemies in Iraq, what with being an oppressive brute and all.

Bin Laden, not having had so much power, doesn't have so many enemies near him.

Of course, there's also the theory I read on the cover of the Enquirer, or one of those rags in the grocery store: The Bat Boy is the one who led us to S. H.

There was a picture and everything.

Hussein was ratted out and hid outside a city in a pit.

Bin Laden retains a band of ferociously devoted followers, and has thousands of square miles of mountainous isolated terrain in which to hide. Not to mention the aid or at least acceptance he recieves from many of the areas local war lords.

because hussein was hiding in a hole in his own backyard and people were eager to give him up...bin laden is hiding in inhospitable terrain, underground caves and, is being protected by tribal cohorts from BOTH pakistan and afghanistan...it is going to be nearly impossible to get him the 'politically correct' style liberals desire, that is, without some damage being done and no ones feelings getting hurt.

We actually tried to catch Hussein...

Cuz that was the presidents agenda all along

We could of caught Bin Laden but our President wanted Hussein for his "WMD" so he took all our troops and all our money for HIS cause...not the cause of 9-11 or the cause of who the real threat to the USA was.

Because someone told us exactly where to look for Hussein.

IF someone told us where to find Bin Laden we'd have him too.
